Slow response times for the Gateway Consumption System

Hello,

I'm trying to use the Gateway Consumption System to built a small proof of concept, but I get excessively long response times, mostly around 30-40 seconds. However if I log on using the SAP GUI and for example lists Sales Orders the performance is ok.

For example a call to get the 15 first Sales Orders take over 40 seconds. The call was:
