We are in a concept study phase for implementing DUET enterprise which will require the DUET enterprise 2.0 and the Netweaver gateway infrastructure. As part of another project, we are also planning to deploy some Fiori apps for users. I have been going through a lot of documentation on Netweaver Gateway 2.0, Fiori and DUET architecture. For Duet 2.0 the only requirement is Netweaver Gateway 2.0 and Gateway can be installed on a Netweaver 7.4 instance but according to note 1718520 the prerequisite for DUET is a SAP Netweaver 7.0 SP 8 instance. This is confusing.
We will be installing a seperate Gateway instance and the question is if we could include Fiori infrastructure and DUET on the same instance.
1. Are there any major disadvantages of implementing all 3 components in a single instance as a Central hub.
2. According to SAP note 1826531 - Add-on compatibility of SAP NetWeaver 7.4 - ABAP, Netweaver gateway, Fiori and Duet are compatible with Netweaver 7.4, so can we have a Netweaver 7.4 as a central hub and install all 3 components?
3. Advantages or disadvantages of installing the components on a Netweaver 7.4 instance instead of Netweaver 7.02.
The reason being that SAP recommends that these components be installed as a separate system instead of embedding it in the Business suite and we would like to avoid installing multiple Netweaver instances for each of the component (increasing the administrative tasks)
We are on ECC 6.0 EHP6.
Any recommendations?
